Bookween policy
Content & Publishing Standards
Last updated: 24 August 2026
Bookween is not built to maximize the number of posts.
It is built to make reading worth the time it requires.
Who Can Publish
Publishing is available only to members with at least one active Bookween verification. See Verification Policy.
Long-Form Standard
Bookween is a long-form platform. Current standard publishing requirements include:
- Minimum article length: 4,000 characters.
- Title length: 74-100 characters.
- Bookween may introduce category-specific rules or exceptions where appropriate.
Substance Over Filler
Meeting the character minimum does not guarantee publication quality. Articles should provide genuine substance, analysis, storytelling, knowledge, experience, argument, or perspective. Content written primarily to inflate length or manipulate platform requirements may be restricted.
Originality
Publishers should contribute original work or properly attributed material. Plagiarism, unauthorized copying, content spinning, and mass-produced low-value material are not acceptable.
AI tools may assist a writer, but publishers remain responsible for originality, accuracy, rights, and quality. Mass-generated filler designed to bypass Bookween standards may be treated as spam.
Accuracy and Responsibility
Bookween encourages publishers to distinguish:
- Fact
- Opinion
- Analysis
- Personal experience
- Speculation
- Where appropriate, writers should cite reliable sources or explain the basis of significant factual claims.
- Verification does not mean Bookween fact-checks every article.
Sensitive Subjects
Sex, violence, health, crime, war, politics, religion, and other sensitive topics may be discussed where there is legitimate educational, journalistic, scientific, historical, literary, or public-interest value. Explicit pornography, sexual exploitation, and other prohibited material remain disallowed.
Professional Topics
Verified professionals remain responsible for their content. A professional badge does not convert general content into personalized medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice.
Promotional Content
Reasonable references to a publisher's work, company, portfolio, product, or professional services may be permitted where relevant. Bookween should not become a spam directory.
Pure advertisement disguised as an article may be restricted or required to follow sponsorship/advertising rules. See Advertising & Sponsored Content Policy.
Copyright
Publish only material you own, have permission to use, or have another lawful basis to use. See Copyright & Intellectual Property Policy.
Editing and Corrections
Publishers should correct meaningful errors where appropriate. Bookween may preserve technical records of edits for integrity, moderation, legal, or security purposes even if public version history is not exposed.
Distribution
Publishing does not guarantee recommendation, search ranking, visibility, or engagement.
Enforcement
Content that violates these standards may be held for review, rejected, limited, removed, or subjected to other enforcement. See Moderation Policy and Appeals & Enforcement Policy.
